Wir haben Glueck hier wird zur Zeit 6 Sonntage lang, bis Ostern, eine grosse Prozession abgehalten. / We are lucky. 6 weekends before and until eastern they make great processions here.

Die Schule Probigua (www.probigua.org), in der ich(Andreas) spanisch gelernt habe. Die Schule ist sehr zu empfehlen. Es gibt hier intensiven Einzelunterricht. Ein Teil des eingenommen Geldes wird in die Entwicklung von Buecherreien auf dem Lande gesteckt. /
The school Probigua (www.probigua.org), in wich I (Andreas) have learned Spanish. We can highly recommend the school. They make intensive face to face lessons. With a part of the money that is earned here, they are opening libaries in the countrysiede.

Margarethe und Ingrid, zwei ruestige Rentnerinnen aus Koeln. Die beiden nehmen hier 6 Wochen Spanischunterricht, hoert, hoert! Wir hatten viel Spass mit den beiden. Zusammen haben wir bei Tomas und seiner Familie gewohnt. Wir sehen uns bestimmt wieder! Klasse, jetzt hat Andreas, nachdem seine Oma in Koeln bereits gestorben ist, gleich zwei neue Omis in Koeln. Ist das nicht super? /
...., two lusty retirees from Cologne. They take 6 weeks of spanish course here, listen up! We had a great time with them. We lived together in Tomas house with his family. Fore sure we will see us again! Great, now Andreas has, after the death of his granny from cologne, two new ones there. Awesome!

Naja, auch das gehorert leider zum Reisen. Kristina lag einen Tag flach. Da essen wir nun schon seit 5 Monaten von allen moeglichen Staenden auf Strassen und Maerkten ohne Probleme, gehen einmal in ein vermeintlich sauberes Tourilokal und zack der Eimer muss her. /
Well, also this is part of a journey. Kristina was one day knocked out. Since 5 months we have eaten from many stands on the street and in the markets without any problem. Then we go once to one of this supposed to be clean bars and peng, she needs the bucket.

Thomas bereitet einen Gabentisch vor. Semana Santa( Ostern) ist hier in Mittelamerika sehr wichtig. Es finden viele Zeremonien statt- zu Hause, wie auch auf der Strasse / Thomas prepair a table with offerings. Eastern is very important in central America. Lot’s of ceremonies at home and on the streets.

Upps …und da war ploetzlich ein Fluss. Schonwieder musste unser armes Motorrad von der Strasse auf wacklige Bretter ( Faehre). /

Im Tikal park angekommen, erwarten uns viele RAUBTIERE:

Tikal- Stadt der Klaenge. Um 4 Uhr morgens auf einer Pyramide sitzen und den Urwald aufwachen hoeren, ist ein einmaliges Erlebnis./
Tikal -City of sounds. To sit on top of a pyramid and hear at 4am the dschungel awaken, is a great experience.

Schlusswort:
Guatemala wird auch heute noch als nicht so sicheres Reiseland beschrieben. Wir hatten keine Probleme und eine sehr gute Zeit. Die Menschen sind ueberaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Selbst sie aergern sich ueber die Politik und unsichere Situation von Guatemala.
Wir hatten das Glueck in den Wochen vor Semana Santa da zu sein. Somit haben wir die traditionellen Zeremonien und Feste sehen koennen, die in beeindruckenden Ausmassen stattfinden.
Tikal war sehr beeindruckend und Antigua super schoen.
Final word:
Since today Guatemala is not very safe. we had no problems and again a great time. People are very friendly and kind. Also they are sad about politics and unsafe situation in own land.
We have been lucky, that we hit the weeks before Semana Santa. We could see all this traditionel events in huge dimension.
Tikal was very impressiv and Antigua is so pretty.
