Vulkaninsel- Isla Ometepe auf dem See Nicaragua/ Vulcano- island on the Nicaragua lake.
Wir treffen Tom aus Kanada. Ein ruhiger und angenehmer Motorradreisender./ We meet Tom from Canada. He is a very nice and kindly motorbike-traveller.
Granada- eine schoene koloniale Stadt am Lago Nicaragua./ a nice colonial town at lago Nicaragua.

In Esteli besuchten wir ein Museum der Sandinisten, dass von Muettern der getoeteten Wiederstandskaempfer gepflegt wird. Es soll an die Opfern des langen Krieges in Nicaragua gedenken und zur Aufklaerung dienen. Wir waren sehr beindruckt und bewegt. Hier ein Werbeplakat zur Wiederwahl eines altbekannten Sandinisten- Daniel Ortega. / In Esteli we visited a museum about the sandinistas, it should remind and explain people about the long war and the victims in Nicaragua. Schlusswort :
Nicaragua wurde uns als das aermste Land in Mittelamerika vorangekuendigt. Lange Kriegsjahre und schlechte Wirtschaft sind wohl die Hauptgruende. Kinder sollen hier nicht um Geld sondern um Essen betteln. Teils traff dies dann auch zu. Trotzdem hat das Land uns sehr positiv ueberrascht. Die Menschen bemuehen sich sehr, ein sauberes und attraktives Image ihres Landes zu vermitteln. Tourismus ist sehr willkommen, obwohl er noch etwas in den Kinderschuhen steckt. Landschaftlich aehnelt es Costa Rica, wahrscheinlich etwas mehr Vulkane.
Final world:
Nicaragua was intruduced us, as the poorest country in central america. Long lasting war and bad economie should be the reasons why. Children are begging for food , not for money. It really happened to us once. Anyway, the country surprised us very much. People try to make you feel comfortable and they want to show a nice and clean image of their towns. Tourists are welcome, but tourisme still is a little bit in its infancy. From landscene it remember us to Costa Rica, with a bit more vulcanos.
