Bolivien, das Land des Laechelns! / Bolivia the country of smile. · 19. Januar 2007
Fast 2 Wochen waren wir in Bolivien. Nach Argentinien und Chile, die doch sehr europaeisch sind, landeten wir nun in einer voellig anderen Welt. Leider hat uns die Regenszeit schneller aus dem Land gespuelt als uns recht war. Trotzdem hatten wir in dieser kurzen Zeit viele tolle Eindruecke und Erlebnisse. /
Almost 2 weeks we have spent in Bolivia. It’ s a pitty that the rainseason has hit us very strong, so that we had to leave the country earlier than we wanted to. But anyway, we had a great time with lots of stunning adventures and impressions. It is a total different world to Argentinia, Chile and Europe.
Die bolivianische Grenze/ The bolivian Border
Wir fahren von San Pedro de Atacama in den Nationalpark Boliviens. Hier erwarten uns unglaubliche landschaftliche Eindruecke, aber auch die haertesten 2 Motorradtage der bisherigen Reise. Wir sind am Anfang der Regenzeit und werden von Regen und Schnee erwischt. Strassen gibt es praktisch nicht, sondern nur ein paar Reifenspuren im tiefen Sand. Spitze Steine, Wasserdurchfahrten, im Sand stecken bleiben, alles ist dabei. /
From San Pedro the Atacama we drive to the national park of Bolivia. Here are expecting us beatiful landscapes but also the hardest 2 riding days of this journey until now. We are at the beginning of the rainseason and get hit by rain and snow. There are nearly now roads, only tracks in the sand. Big stones, water crossing, stick in the sand, we got it all.
Wir sind die ersten an diesem Tag und wurden mit einem Laecheln begruesst. / We are the first this day and have a nice welcome with a big smile.

Dalifelsen, werden so genannt, da sie an ein Bild von Salvatore Dali erinnern. / Rocks of Dali. Named like this, because this landscape seems like a picture of Salvatore Dali.

Unglaubliche Hoehen, 5041 Meter. Wir schnaufen alle Moped und Fahrer. Uns ist schwindelig. / Unbelivable hights. 5041 meters. Bike and drivers feel dizzy.
Laguna Colorado
Unsere erste Nacht in Bolivien. Ich (Andreas) habe mit starken Kopfschmerzen zu kaempfen. Dagegen gibt es erstmal einen Cocatee. Klasse! Wir sind stolz auf uns aber auch total erschoepft. Doch dann kam der zweite Tag… / Our first night in Bolivia. I (Andreas) have a bad headache. A cup of coca tea helps a lot. We are proud of us but also extreamly exhausted. But than the secound day comes…

Die restliche Fahrt des Tages ersparen wir Euch und uns… das hier ist der verzweifelte Versuch klatschnasse Klamotten wieder trocken zu kriegen. Fazit des Tages: 10 Stunden fuer 130 Kilometer. / The rest of the day is not for reporting… this are totally wet clothes. Fazit of the day: 10 hours for 130 kilometers.
Uyuni
Endlich sind wir da. Wir feiern bei Minuteman Pizza in Uyuni den Erfolg der letzten zwei Tage. / Finally we got there and are celebrating at Minuteman Pizza in Uyuni our secess of the last two days.
Salar de Uyuni Tour
Die Idee mit dem Motorrad auf den Salar (Salzsee) zu fahren geben wir schnell auf, da er teilweise bereits 20 cm Wasser hatte. Deshalb buchen wir eine Jeeptour. Dieser Salzsee ist der groesste und hoechstliegende der Welt. / We are giving up the idea to ride with the bike on the saltlake, because it is already partly flodded with water. Up to 20 centimeter deep. We book a jeep tour.
It is the biggest and in higgest situated saltlake in the world.

Super Tour danke an Kintin von San Juan Tours. Wir hatten mal wieder Glueck mit dem Wetter es war der letzte Tag, an dem man ein Stueck des Sees im Trockenen begehen konnte. / Great tour, thank you to Kintin from San Juan Tours. Lucky again. We hit the very last day, to get a dry foot on the salar.

Schlusswort zu Bolivien: Fremdes, interessantes Land mit der hoechsten indianischen Population in Suedamerika. Es gibt hier wahnsinns Landschaften, interessante indianische Kultur und Tradition. Wir wurden immer sehr freundlich behandelt und kommen gerne wieder- in der Trockenzeit. Beim naechsten Mal dann auch den Camino de los muertos. Die Strassen sind meistens, leider sehr schlecht. /
Final word to Bolivia: Foreign, interesting country with the highest indio population in south America. Here are amazing landscapes, interessting indio culture and tradition. We have always been treated very nice. We like to come back in the dry season. The next time we will do the Camino de los muertos. The roads are mostly in very bad shape.

Wir sind jetzt in Bolivien. Aufgrund sehr langsamer Internetverbindungen koennen wir leider erst spaeter neue Bilder und Artikel einstellen. Uns geht es soweit gut, nur soviel, es war das haerteste Stueck Motorradreise das wir bis jetzt hatten. Also bis bald

we are in Bolivia now. Due to very slow internet connections we are not able to put more pictures and articles into the net. We will do that later. It is all right here so far. Just a short comment, it was the hardest piece of motorcycle riding we ever have encountered.
